Students of Thiruthangal Nadar Vidhyalaya enthusiastically participated in the CBSE Young India Culinary Championship (YICC) 2026–27, an initiative aimed at developing culinary skills, creativity, teamwork, nutrition awareness, food hygiene and sustainable cooking practices. As prescribed by CBSE, the competition featured Cooking without fire for Classes VI–VIII and Cooking with fire for Classes IX–XII.
Through this hands-on experience, our students showcased their culinary creativity, presentation skills, hygiene practices and confidence while preparing and presenting their dishes. The initiative provided an enriching opportunity for students to experience skill-based and experiential learning while exploring the world of culinary arts and hospitality.
The school-level YICC was conducted in accordance with CBSE guidelines, with students participating individually and being assessed using the prescribed criteria, including taste and flavour, presentation, hygiene and food safety, nutrition, creativity, workplace organisation and waste control.
