English Language Day

“Well begun is Half done” TNV has begun this academic year with a great start by celebrating English language on 20th April 2018 to commemorate Shakespeare’s Birth Anniversary. The day was celebrated to make the students competent English orators. Our illustrous correspondent inaugurated the day by cutting the ribbon. The red carpet welcome was rendered by Miss Aasifaa XII – B .The choir students brightened the hall with the blessing of Almighty by their divine song “All things bright and beautiful”. The PowerPoint Presentation enlightened the students about Shakespeare and his notable works. It also summarized the vision and action of English Department.

The skit Julius Ceasar touched the minds of the students and made the phrase, “Even you Brutus” relive. The dance made everyone to step on the floor. Recitation of Shakespeare ‘Sonnet 18’ by Devadharshini VIII A, with apt gestures held the viewers captive. The ramp walk by the students of Class I to XII brought all the mighty and charming characters of English literature on dais. The characters like Adam & Eve, Romeo & Juliet, Goldilocks & three bears, Rapunzel & Edward, Snow white & Seven dwarfs, Super heroes, Harry potter, Angels & Vampires, Gulliver strided on the ramp and stole the hearts of the spectators.

Last but not least came the surprise event of the day. For the first time in TNV’s history , Teachers of English Department presented a motivational song. ‘Be a Champion‘ and made the lyric linger in the minds of the students. The Principal and the Correspondent appreciated the students for their inexplicable performance and the teachers for their ceaseless effort. The day ended with vote of thanks by Raja Ravi Varma XII A.
