Sports Excellence

The 10th Annual Sports Meet was held on 8th August 2019 [Thursday] at Chennai Port Trust – CPT stadium in a grand manner.
The Chief Guest of the day Tmt. G.Subulakshmi, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Washermenpet, Chennai District, took the salute of the impressive march past of our students. The day was presided over by Thiru D. Subbiah, President of Thiruthangal Nadar Vidhyalaya.
The function started with a welcome speech by Mrs. D. Geetha, M.A.,B.Ed., Academic Coordinator [Middle School] followed by March past and Oath taking.
Mr. R.C.Kumar M.A.,M.PEd,M.Phil.,P.G.D.Y., Head of the Physical Education Department presented a brief Annual Sports report of the Academic year 2019-20.
The children have shown their very innovative, creative & attractive talents in their drill. The winners of track events were awarded. The overall trophy was secured by the Harvey house.
The programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. B.Kolammal M.A.,M.Phil, B.Ed., Primary Academic Coordinator. Thus, this sports day was a platform to showcase the talents and efforts put in by the children to make it a successful and a memorable event.

The much awaited 9th Annual Sports meet was held on 24th August 2018(Friday) at Chennai Port Trust – CPT Stadium. The fantastic turnout from the parents and the pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the students. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion with the unfurling of the National and School flag.

The Chief Guest of the day, DIG Sanjeev Dewan, TM-Commander of Coast Guard district, took the salute of the impressive march past of our students. The day was presided over by Thiru Mr. A. Mariappan B.E., M.I.E., President of Thiruthangal Nadar College. The oath being administered and the declaration of the Sports Meet Open by the Chief Guest, marked the commencement of the ceremony followed by the lighting of the flame.

Our PD Mr. R.C. Kumar M.A.,M.PEd,M.Phil.,P.G.D.Y., HOD of the Physical Education Department, read a brief report of the school’s sports activities.

The Chief Guest in his address was superlative in his praise for the March past and urged students to participate in sports with sincerity.

The peppy dance drills and energizing performances set the tone for the rest of the events. Once the race begins, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes.

The Overall trophy was secured by The Lewis House. The meet saw its culmination with the National Anthem.

To learn the principles of leadership, teamwork, sportsmen ship, goal setting and other valuable life skills the physical education programme in designed to encourage maximum participation during class time and off time supported by indoor sports facilities, play grounds, basket ball courts etc.,
