A child cannot be expected to face the reality of the competitive world, once he/she finishes the formal education. Apart from academics, the student has to go through a complete scan of learning through various skills.
As a gesture of utmost care, a small initiative has been taken to enhance the Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing skills of our pre-primary children. A Skill Based Assessment will be conducted before every Term end for the children.
This Assessment will also strengthen our student’s Vocabulary, Conversation, Reading & Grammar in Languages and develop their logical and analytical reasoning and Mathematical reasoning ability.
The first Skill Based Assessment [SBA I] was conducted in the 1st week of November 2018. With the excellent training of our teachers, our children gave their best performance in the Assessment.
The Second Skill Based Assessment [SBA II] was conducted in the 3rd week of January 2019 This Assessment helped the children to perform well and score good marks in their Midterm test
The Skill Based Assessment was introduced on the academic year 2019-2020 in Primary Section. This is conducted twice a year.
This assessment provides a ready template for parents and teachers to evaluate his or her strengths or weaknesses. The assessment is designed in a way that reflects the results of what the teachers have taught and what the students have learned. This way the teachers will have the opportunity to determine the learning gaps.
While there are various procedures of conducting regular skill based assessments, the design of the skill based assessment can vary from subject to subject, class to class or student to student as the class consist of students with different skill sets like reading skill, understanding skill, writing skill, Critical thinking and problem solving skill, Creative and Innovative skill etc.
Data collected through Skill Based Assessment helped in providing detailed feedback to teachers regarding the students overall strengths and weaknesses. Accordingly, teachers focused on improvement of specific areas of their weaknesses. Also, the assessment report enabled the parents and teachers to understand the students performance at a specific point of time, and to decide what is required for future progress.
A skills assessment is extremely helpful in pinpointing exactly the areas where someone needs to develop skills,making it easier to develop a relevant,personalized learning and development plan.Students are nurtured in skill based education to become great leaders in the chosen sector.
To support this process,our students must think beyond academics and gain real-world skill.So skill based assessment is conducted before every term in Middle school(Grade-6 to 8).It is conducted twice in a year.
Skill based learning and assessment process improved Problem-solving,enhanced creativity and innovation,sharpened analytical abilities and superior collaboration.
The Skill Based Assessment-I is conducted in thelast week of July Last week with the elite training by our teachers and our middle school students are giving their best performance in the assessment.
The Skill Based Assessment-II is conducted on November 2nd week.This assessment would help the children to perorm well and score good marks in their Term End Assessment.
