A Book is a gift you can open again and again

            On the occasion of International Literacy Day on 8th Sep, CBSE announced Reading Week Celebration from 9th Sept to 15th Sept. Our school conducted various interesting activities related to books and reading.

The main objectives behind celebrating reading week are

  1. 1. To make students understand the value of reading.
  2. 2. To mark the importance of reading in one’s life.

Various activities held on 13.09.19 for classes I to XII except X and for class IX activity was conducted on 25.09.19 in our school premises. Around 944 students took part in the activity.

Students of class I to V got an opportunity to participate in various activities to inculcate the habit of reading. Activities like Storytelling, Tongue Twister and Book Review were conducted.

Students of class VI – VIII displayed their favourite story in a comic strip and IX STD took part in the program by making innovative reading Snake and Ladder board and creative Story Maps for favourite story. XI and XII STD presented Book Review on the book of choice and interest.

Reading helps to develop the proficiency in English. Hence the Reading Week would be greatly beneficial to students to improve the Vocabulary Skills.
